Storytime at Coonley Elementary
One of my favorite activities at Coonley was this origami storytelling activity. This story tells of how a sheet of paper becomes a rain hat, a firefighter's helmet, a pirate hat, a boat, and finally a life jacket. I used a red sheet of paper and a small stuffed raccoon as my hat model. I told this to Pre K to 3rd grade, modifying it for each grade. For the 3rd grade, for instance, I explained about the art of origami. This was extremely popular activity.
