Welcome to Kathryn Spindler's Online Portfolio!

A little bit about me:

I am a recent graduate of the School of Library and Information Science at Dominican University and part of the School Library Media Program.   My primary focus is on youth services, but all areas of the library world that hold interest for me.  My student teaching was at Coonley Elementary School, where I worked with students from PreK to Eighth Grade, including multiple special ed classes, and Amundsen High School, where I had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students including those in the International Baccalaureate program. I have volunteered extensively at the Park Ridge Public Library in both the Children's Department and in Inter Library Loans.   I truly enjoy creative problem solving and a fresh challenge.   As you can probably tell from my photo collage above, I feel the world is a place full of adventure and opportunity to learn.   As a librarian, I hope to convey that attitude and enthusiasm to all patrons.

This site contains examples of my work using a variety of tools and information.  Many of my flyers and handouts are in unusual or creative presentations in order to grab the attention of the viewer.  Some of these projects were created for class and others were used professionally.  To navigate, just click the links in the green bar at the top of the page.  Enjoy!
